I tried out a small combo today, looked like a 12" driver with what looked like the new LMIII head built in (but it said Combo or similar on the faceplate). I think it might have been the newer version of this model:

Anyway, with the SR5 running, this thing just about blew the roof off the shop. The bottom string notes were amazing, just solid as heck and not a hint of flab. One of these and an extension box would cover just about any situation, anywhere for me I reckon.

Anybody here own one of these babies?

I've got the 2 x 10' version CMD102P. Loud enough for most gigs, unless you play in a stadium, otherwise you'll find that an extention cab is not always needed.

Have the 2x10 version - the 1 12 is a great lettle amp though

The small 1x12 will start to fart out before the amp reaches its limit. Adding the NYC112 extension cab would be necesary if you find you are reaching the farting point.

The small 1x12 combo is very popular, but I think if GC actually stocked the 121H combo, people would be likely to spring for it over the Mini 121p.

Its a little heavier, but the speaker is in a bigger enclosure with a nicer high frequency driver. The response of this combo should be a bit more even and the low end response will be deeper. For only 50 bucks difference, its the way I would go.

I had this exact amp and had to return in for a few reasons. It doesn't have a mute switch, and the sound didn't suit my taste. That's just my opinion, but sorry I can't help you on the amp you're looking at. I personally like having a separate head/cab setup. See my sig for my current setup.
