Hey gang ...well most of ya'll know about how I feel About Leo Fender ....and what i feel he did for the industry ...his amps are THE sound in my head ...well 2 weeks ago i got VERY VERY fortunate and went to see a man about a bandmaster.....turns out to be a 1961 6g7a circuit (very rare) with the 3 tube harmonic tremolo ,the 8 ohm transformer was only made for the one year until they went to the 4 ohm transformer in 62 ,,....this still had the original 2 prong plug and the Astron Caps which came in the tweeds ..this a 61 transition model ....blonde with Oxblood all original tolex and grill cloth as well......also the only thing Modded was the Cabinet...he said he didnt like the 1x12 8ohm it came with so he made it a 2x12 8 ohm cab...other that that it was all original ....i had my tech replace the top end caps with Sprague Blue atoms but all the Astrons are fine! removed the death cap and replaced the power and standby switches so its safe to gig ........I cant tell you how i feel right now ...but the combo of Sterlings BFR Albert Lee and Leo's Bandmaster is a match made in Heaven ...Its like Don Rich and Pete Anderson ..have invaded my Jam room ...the tone from this thing oh the tone ..40 watts of pure Country twang....sorry for the long read but ...this thing has MOJO and i know that Leo looked at this Amp and said ok she ready to go gave it his blessing and shipped it out ....I can almost see Leo and hear him saying the Blonde tolex is to light and its goona get dirty to quick ...hahahaha anyways i thought i would share something very exciting to me ...A little piece of Leo..

I´m very sorry, you are right... TONE MASTER. I checked my pics again, sorry for the confusion

No need to be sorry my friend ...they are almost identical in looks eh!....except his is custom shop i think and has a few more Features..HIS> 2 f/sw ch's, fat switch on both, seperate FX loops for each channel, 3 way impedance switch(30/60/100watts). ...Very versatile for what Al needs and the venues he plays!

Lenny, that amp is in great condition for it's age. It's also great to see someone replaced the old 25uf electrolytics. Very nice indeed. :)

yes it was recapped about 13 years ago but i just had it overhauled again since those pics with Sprague blue atom electro's
