Luke Trem Question

I am considering a LUKE and am wondering if I clamp the trem down and make it sit flush to the body, thus making it a non-floating unit, will I have to do anything to the guitar other then a set up to get it playing like a "Ball"

Can do it easy

Mine initially came floating, then i set it flat by adjusting the trem claw...
And now after much debate recently I set it to float again Too easy.

I've gone back and forth a bit, very simple set up. I prefer my bar rather stiff so I go 4 springs and 10's down only.

its simple and sounds better too all mine are flush!

I did it when switching the guitar to 10's but here's how it went:

1) take 9's off
2) open back & add 4th spring
3) put on 10's
4) tune
5) quick setup
6) enjoy

honestly it takes about 3 minutes longer than a standard restring. add spring, quick tweak to the truss rod wheel, done

I have 5 springs and 10's on my pair and its wicked awesome!!!!!!!

OK just finished making the trem flush, pretty simple and it doesnt even look like I will need to tweak the truss rod, just waiting for the strings to strecth properly.

Quick question though, mine only had two springs in it to begin with and I added two more i find the trem a litle stiff for me, will three work to make it flush?

If it doesn't just realease the claw screws a little bit Keith ... I would use the 3 and see first but the trem claw will adjust in or out with the 2 screws and will in turn stiffin or lesson the tension on the trem
