I'm primarily a bassist but my Rosewood Axis Super Sport is an amazing guitar. I got a great deal on it and I now have a BFR Rosewood necked Ray 5 to match. Come to think of it, I got an even better deal for on the bass thanks to Pete DuBaldo.

I thought that the other major difference between a rosewood axis and a standard axis was the ash body. I think that the ash body also made them sound different. I believe that there was even a post here with that question and EBMM CS rep responded stating that the body was made out of ash with a rosewood top. can someone from EBMM confirm? or were the earlier 2005 models made from ash and then later on basswood was used?

We really didnt mae that man and it surprises me how little they go for used. THey are beautiful but I think that people buy them and then need maple figuring....the rosewood is really cool and I have an Axis in my office...why I have a floyd guitar with my style is beyond me other than I usually get scraps

Since not that many were made, it would be cool to get actual production #'s. Is it possible to also get a confirmation on the body wood used on these awesome guitars. Many say it's basswood but, I believe that it was ash - at least for the earlier ones.

Thanks,

Here's the post that I was referring to in reference to the body wood used on the rosewood axis guitars. It's Ash not Basswood. I would still like to confirm if Ash was used for all of the Rosewood Axis models since the post was specific to a Rosewood ASS with P90's..
