New pickup recommendations for AL bridge

Ok, so on one of my AL's I'm going to chnage the nridge pup to something hotter, I figure i'll stay with Seymour Duncan as the stock AL pups are brilliant, any suggestions folks? Do not want a metal/shred tone, more like a PAF tone or a Gibson Burstbucker-ish tone, basically something I can use when I need to use humbuckers but dont want to use my PRS, anything fit the bill?

Been thinking the same thing... my friend tells me the Lil '59 is a good choice and that was what I was leaning towards.

Would be nice, but this is purely for curiosity, and its cheap to do! $120 for the pup, verses probably $5000 for the HH AL, i'll get one anyway though!

I hear the 'lil 59 is a terrible version of the original full sized humbucker. I, personally, would stay away from it.

I tried the Lil 59 some time ago and it was mediocre at best (granted I didn't try it in an AL) There is something new coming out from SD that might be exactly what you're after though; Custom Stack Plus. It is the noiseless variety so I don't know if that will affect your decision.

I you feel adventurous I cannot speak highly enough of Van Zandt single coils. I had a batch in a custom build I did years ago and the "Rock Single Coil" was a beast !!

i haven't had much experience with duncans in any of my ALs other than the stock ones... i use a dimarzio chopper in the bridge position of two of my ALs. to my ear it does a good job coming close to what i like to hear from a full size humbucker.

I've used a JB Jr in a Silo Special, and it really was great. I can recommend that one.
