More color talk: what color with maple and Abalone?

Imagine a maple Sterling 5 with Abalone PG - what body colors would you suggest?

I was thinking Natural, but think it might be a little blah. Blue Pearl isn't an option for this exercise.

Sapphire Black or one of the whites. I played a white Sterling 5 with an abalone guard on it the other day. Looked great and sounded great.

Pacific Blue Burst
Blue Pearl
Black
Tobacco Burst
Egyptian Smoke
Graphite Pearl
Sterling Silver

My personal choice? I'd try Tobacco Burst for some originality, but I'd have to see it first.

Hmmmm... Graphite Pearl. Sapphire Black - that's another one I've never seen in real life. It's a very dark grey, right?

Sapphire Black is from what I've seen a very very dark blue, almost back, with hint of sparkle, hence the name.

Graphite Pearl is the dark grey.

I'd say something greyish or silverish:

Egyptian Smoke
Graphite Pearl
Sterling Silver

With abalone I wouldn't go natural or one of this bright happy colors.
To much of a harsh contrast.

And black and white goes always well with anything.

Just my 0.02%...

Wow - I never would have guessed that would look good, and it does. I'm having a hard time picturing Abalone on different colors.

Based on that Bongo, I'll bet it would work with Trans Gold.

Based on that Bongo, I'll bet it would work with Trans Gold.

It works because there is gold in the abalone.

If you look at abalone you can find red, gold, blue, green, grey, and teal. Any of these colours would match nicely. I have also seen abalone on trans orange and it looks very cool.

White is also a cool look.

Nothing like tranny Teal with abalone. Pulls out the rich colors. Matching headstock also.

I hope this helps. Ironically a lot of the discontinued colours go well with Abalone.
