I have an Axis Sport, but mine is HH version. They are a little brighter and more "poppy" or "bell like" then the regular Axis or even the Super Sport but not as heavy in mid range due to it being Swamp Ash vs Basswood/Maple. If you have played a MM90 Super Sport it is closer to the tone of the Axis Sport due to the Swamp Ash body under the maple top. They have an amazingly warm and versatile tone that will fit many styles of playing and I think with the single coils you are looking at one of the sweetest "strat" type tones... It should be big, fat and glassy... I don't know if that helps... but I love my Axis Sport and would love to find another one that was either the MM90, SSS or HSS config. I would say jump on it and if for some reason you don't like it one of us on the forum would love to take it off your hands.

The Sport is a great Guitar. The HSS gives some real versatility, you get cool clean sounds, but then you can kick in the bridge for a really rawking hot solo.

*note, when I play, it's not rawking or hot.

Confession time I guess

I've bought the guitar as the seller only lives a few miles from me and had it advertised locally. I mainly bought for the P90's to try them out. If I decide to sell, you can get first shout

Smelly, bummer man, you would have liked the Sport big time man.

WeeGee, nice snag and nice of you to offer it to Smelly if you don't like it, but I have a feeling that Smelly will be looking else where.

Smelly, I know where a vintage Sunburst Sport is. It is a HSS, trem with maple neck.... no major dings or scratches but the neck is Dirty! It is in the US, but may be a good option. PM me if you are interested and I can get a pic of it or point you in the direction of the store... the price is reasonable too.
