You have 30 days with a GC purchase, so if you run into something that rubs you the wrong way, return it.

That's also a really good selling point. :D I have to go in there today and throw some money down on it. I'd pay for the whole thing but my rent is due Saturday. I never got a call back about whether or not they found the case either, hmm...

Hey, u talkin to me? NY
I would say that not getting the original case would be a deal breaker for me, since the original case has the guitars' hand signed BFR COA in it.

They said they do have the original case and that they "just have to find it". It's just a little odd how long it's taking them to find it. I also wanted to make sure all that stuff was in there as well, because like you said, it is kind of a big deal.

Once you put some money down, then they will probably look for it. I'm sure it's probably there.

I went in there this afternoon and put some money down and they had it in a regular JP case. I told them that wasn't the right one so they told me to hang out while they looked for it. They cleaned up the fretboard and put new strings on it- and the thing is **perfect** now. The fretboard is darker and smoother and looks great. They eventually found a BFR case- but it had the wrong certificate in it. Apparently they sold another BFR about a month ago and put the certificate to this guitar in that case and now they have to call that guy to get it back or if they can't, they're going to call Ernie Ball and get a new one made/sent out. Not a big deal at the moment considering I can't pick it up for probably another two weeks.

Also, when they were looking at the receipt they noticed that I was charged for TWO cases (apparently something that happens frequently?) so when they took one case off, it knocked off yet another $100. Definitely stoked about this purchase now. :D

GC considers the case a separate item; pricing on their instruments sometimes doesn't include the cost of the case. Because they split the instrument from the case (to achieve more desirable pricing) the cases sometimes get sold as separate items, or, if they had a case that *disappeared* they rob from one unit to provide to the other until they get to the last instrument and voila! no case for it. Probably one of those two events.

Not to stray off topic, but I always thought the case issue with GC is so dumb. At my local GC there's a used Sapphire Black Bongo and the case is being sold separately. So if someone buys that case, it screws the person that ends up buying that Bongo as they'll be without a case. Just my .02 cents.

I was there a few days ago and played that Bongo. I know it's really weird that they do that. I don't know who would buy the case without the instrument anyway but it's still strange. Btw Phil they have this Bahama Blue JP6 BFR with one of the sickest quilt tops I've ever seen. It's so perfectly bookmatched. Unfortunately I couldn't play it because they said some guy was interested in it so they couldn't put it out for people to play. My GAS for one reached a whole new level.

I'm pretty jealous of you, getting such a good deal on one haha. I really like that flame top actually.

The Oxford Valley GC has a Bahama Blueburst? Hmmm, I'll have to try and check it out. Thanks for the heads up brother.
