Walked into GC today (the one that used to never have EBMM six-stringers) to find five on the wall. Two were the same BFR Axis and Silo I saw last time I was there, the other three were all rosewood necks -- a JP, a Luke and an ASS. I played the ASS for about 15-20 minutes, the Axis being my guitar of choice, and decided that I'm going to need some more time with the rosewood neck to make up my mind.
Like all EBMMs that I've played, I really liked it, but it's a completely different feel from my maple neck. I didn't bond with it right away the way I did the maple neck Axis, but I'm willing to give it some time.
I'm on vacation this week, may find my way up there again without a four-year-old running around threatening to knock over everything in the store to give it another go. Might also try the Luke, since that's one of the EBMMs I've never played.
One thing that I noticed was the neck seemed a little chunkier than my Axis neck. Is there a slightly different profile for the rosewood necks or was it just a combination of the different feel and my imagination?
