I have owned more basses than my wife would have liked over the past couple of years. Fender Custom Shop, Lakland, Pedulla, Warwick. I liked some of them but never loved any of them. I recently picked up a Sterling 5 at GC. I was really impressed by the feel, the construction, the setup, and of course the tone. I wanted to kick myself for not buying one 25 basses back. Needless to say I left with a beautiful Sterling 5 HH in Pacific Blue with a matching headstock. And I love it. Thank you BP for making a great bass for a great price. The boutique builders have to outsource overseas to try to match your price, but they clearly don't match the quality of a good ole US made bass. And Fender has been a lost cause for over a decade. You just earned a customer for life. And I sense a Big Al in my future.

I attached a pic of the new addition for proof :) Sorry it was taken from my iPhone.

That's because 25 basses back there was probably no Sterling5 HH But i'm sure you'd have done just fine with a Stingray5 back then. ;)

Congrats to your beauty and welcome to a better world! :)

I wonder if he knows about the.... Bongos

Hehehe...... He will, he will. The Mind Control Rays are already at work. Sooner or later he'll try one.

I love the story. It's so close to my own experience. I'd owned something like 13 basses before discovering the Bongo, always looking for "the One." At the end there I was replacing all the guts of the bass on a futile Quest for Tone and trying to talk myself into the idea that I was getting the right results.

Picked up that EBMM and it was GAME OVER.

Welcome, friend!

I actually have a box of old pickups, tuners, bridges, etc from that very same thing. It is nice to buy a new bass and love it from the start! I can retire the soldering iron and make my wife even happier.

Man the Bongo peer pressure has already begun! Actually I think they are great looking basses and trust me a Bongo and Big Al are both at the top of my list. A friend even told me there is a local Bongo club here in Dallas.
