so im thinking of buying another luke. and then perhaps carving a new body for it, placing both the front and middle pickups right next to each other in the neck position.
then rewiring it so that the the config is thus:

1st pos = frontmost singlecoil
2nd pos - both singles in series (lukes come wired so that this position is usually parallel
3rd pos - 2nd single coil alone
4th - not sure yet :p
5th - bridge humbucker

i understand that 2 singles in series is very different to a neck humbucker, but im interested in what sort of sound it would make. in my mind this config will give you a bit more versatility for the neck pickup in that you may go for the singlecoil only (my favourite ) but also something a bit beefier.

could anyone give some insight on what the result might be, can anyone describe what 2 singles in series sounds like compared to a humbucker?

any other comments?

thanks

no it won't
EMG pickups are preamped, as far as i know, you can't run one pickup into the other, just like you can't split their humbuckers.
sorry mate.:D

ohhhh really
so its impossible to connect 2 EMGs in series? but it works in parallel?

and it definitely does work in parallel seeing as all lukes do that :p

Yes and no. Unless I'm mistaken it's not really splitting, it's rather a single coil and a humbucker in one housing that can be switched.
