There is somewhat of an orange hue from certain angles, but it's eluding the camera.

So I am not completely insane?

You know what Lou, I watched the video again and there is a definite change in the stage lighting when the guitar turns that red color. So the solution is obviously that you need to install a complete lighting rig in your house.

Lou, when you say that you can play hi gain rhythm on the neck pickup, do you mean it retains the same tightness and definition of the bridge pickup? If so thats pretty awesome.
