Silhouette Specials Simply Rock!

I can’t say enough good things about my Silhouette Special. It sounds fantastic, fits like a glove, stays in tune like a champ, sounds good with a wide range of music, and it’s inspiring to play. My appreciation for the SS grows more and more each time I play it.

Keep in mind that before joining this forum nearly 2 years ago, I exclusively played semi-hollow bodies with dual humbuckers. My few experiences with single coils guitars weren’t pleasant and I felt SC pickups were inferior to humbuckers -- my how things have changed. Honestly, my only complaint about the Silhouette Special is the location of the switch. I sometimes accidentally hit it with my hand while playing and inadvertently changing the position. That’s just something I need to get used to.

If you haven’t tried a Silhouette Special, give it a shot. I wish I would have bought a BFR RW neck Silhouette Special last year. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I’ll get that opportunity again one day.

I keep my toes crossed that we’ll get a BFR Silhouette Special one day too!

Just kidding, they are great guitars. My favorite EBMM, actually my favorite guitar period. The only thing that I would love more than a Silo Special is a BFR Silo Special. I know that BP said in due time all models would have a BFR and I guess when the time is right it will happen.

It is easily the Most Underratedest Guitar there is...in HSS, it can do anything. Here's the family, minus my Orange Firemist SS (Orange Swirl p/g, SSS, maple board, natural headstock, trem) which I haven't photographed yet:

95 here too and nearly 50% humidity. Feels like breathing through a hot washcloth. I can understand

I personally love the look of the pickguard on the Silo Specials. Without the pickguard it would basically look like a LUKE...which is cool of course.

I'm also in love with that Vintage Burst...very Andy Timmons like, except much cooler and better looking than his I****z .

To me the Luke loses me with the rounded cutaways, I love the beveled cutaways of the Silo/silo special/JP. Minor difference, but visually important IMO.

Yes, yes, yes.....the Silo Special is one fine guitar. Coming from a Strat background, the Special is right up my alley.

I had a couple of hss strats and the bridge pickup of those guitars was never to my liking, so I was a bit concerned that I would have the same feeling when I bought my hss Silo Special. I love the bridge position bucker (I put a Timmons in there, but the stock virtual paf was good too), and having a single in the neck makes the Silo Special just uber versatile.

I sold my ASS, my Sub 1, and my Axis Sport after I got my Silo Special.

It's that good.

24 vs 22 frets and different pickups, slight different body carve, deeper horn for high fret access on the Silo.
