Imagine: BFR Silo Special
Flame/Quilt Tobacco Burst with white pearloid PG...HSS with trem and birdseye maple neck and fretboard.
I had a couple of hss strats and the bridge pickup of those guitars was never to my liking, so I was a bit concerned that I would have the same feeling when I bought my hss Silo Special. I love the bridge position bucker (I put a Timmons in there, but the stock virtual paf was good too), and having a single in the neck makes the Silo Special just uber versatile.
hey John...is that officially buttercream or white? I think mine is the same color and I've been calling it white. I just thought it had "matured" some. hmmmmm.
I've always thought the official colour name for that was "vintage white" - not quite buttercream, and definitely not pure white.
I like the virtual PAF. I think it's got a nice tone to it. I just can't stand the stock single coils... They're a bit bright and I find them lifeless.
Actually, that's almost the same colour my 9 year old Silo Spec has aged into.
I'm dying of anticipation for my Candy Red Silo Special to arrive! This thread will be the death of me!
Rainer, the scenery in that photo is beautiful! is that what you see everyday? The silo spec is my one and only guitar. Best guitar I ever had and for me no need to get any other. Love it for everything.

Totally off topic, but your signature is awesome. Carry on.
I'm waiting for the temp to dip below 95 to take pics of the Orange Firemist!![]()
Exactly! Mine's a 2001 and looks like an aged white. I don't know what it looked like new.
