I do like the SiloSpec alot. I played one at GC and it definitely took the 2nd favorite slot for MM guitars for me.

hey John...is that officially buttercream or white? I think mine is the same color and I've been calling it white. I just thought it had "matured" some. hmmmmm.

Imagine: BFR Silo Special
Flame/Quilt Tobacco Burst with white pearloid PG...HSS with trem and birdseye maple neck and fretboard.

Imagine the same guitar, but swimming pool routed to fit ANY config, with 4 different pickguard configs that come with the guitar. HH, HSH, SSH and SSS. Oh wow...!

I had a couple of hss strats and the bridge pickup of those guitars was never to my liking, so I was a bit concerned that I would have the same feeling when I bought my hss Silo Special. I love the bridge position bucker (I put a Timmons in there, but the stock virtual paf was good too), and having a single in the neck makes the Silo Special just uber versatile.

I like the virtual PAF. I think it's got a nice tone to it. I just can't stand the stock single coils... They're a bit bright and I find them lifeless.

I've always thought the official colour name for that was "vintage white" - not quite buttercream, and definitely not pure white. Just looks great no matter what it is called!

yeah, i followed your lead and put a cruiser in the neck, but left the stock middle......i'm liking the combo so far. cruiser n, stock single m, AT-1 b ....... I'm happy

"vintage white" ...... I like it!

The silo spec is my one and only guitar. Best guitar I ever had and for me no need to get any other. Love it for everything.

Rainer, the scenery in that photo is beautiful! is that what you see everyday?

Every day, every day. It´s my terrace in the 1st floor and the sun is going down behind this scenery (when it´s shining here in Germany :(, this summer unfortunately not to often).

Silo specials do indeed rock. I love mine. I'll have to post some new pics when I'm done trying out different pickups in it! I've currently got an HH setup with a push-pull splitter in there and jumbo stainless steel frets.

Exactly! Mine's a 2001 and looks like an aged white. I don't know what it looked like new.

Neither do I. Wish I could have the options of changing pickguards though... Someone ehre had a mint green pickguard on a white Silo Spec and it ruled! Thing is, I sent emails to picguard heaven, and they didn't even reply...:(
