So while I'm waiting for my Dargie Delight II... (Amp Build)

Why not build a amp?

Hope this is alright BP, if not let me know and it will disappear :)

Metro Amp JTM-45 Kit heading my way. I'll be updating this thread as I progress through the build pending BP's approval of course. Anyone else out there ever build their own amp? I think this will sound killer with the new Dargie II

Here is the link to the kit:

Metroamp Parts Store

I opted for the Sozo mustard capacitors for a more vintage vibe and will be ordering a set of tubes for it from Eurotubes

I plan on building a head cabinet for it, I'm leaning towards a oak cabinet with a nice satin varnish finish.

Stay tuned :D

I haven't built it myself. I let a friend to do it for me :)
That's a great amp if you like the marshall type of sound. I know, I have one from George :D

Mine has Sozo caps and George's transformers. Eurotubes are great guys but I would recommend you to try Valve Art KT66's first from George.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions concernig the amp :)

Awesome!

I have always had high gain amps. Mesas, Oranges, newer style Marshalls, ect. What I'm starting to discover is I really enjoy using a clean amp. It makes you focus on your technique and style.

Though all the clips I've heard the JTM-45 can still howl

I had Diezel and Mesa but they were too hi-fi IMO so I turned my eyes on the classic :)

JTM can howl for sure :) I'm using Weber MiniMass to tame the beast :)

I think I may need to pick one of those up or the neighbors might complain :D

I'm debating between the Mini Mass or just spending the few extra bucks to get the regular Mass.

I don't know if I'd use the extra controls on the regular one.
