its fine but I think that you really should talk to your newspaper either in new jersey or pittsburgh it could get picked up by the ap and get more potential donations that gw

I only say this is ok because of the potential of gaing more dough....I really dont do this stuff for publicity honest

BP it's understandable what you say, a lot of the kids here see you as a father figure, a charitable man, and it is plain to see that you do what you do out of the goodness of your own heart, and as a result people want to praise your good deeds because they feel devotedly thankful to you. And if all this taking it to the papers or even Oprah will raise more revenue for Erin then its a testimony that your charitable work continues and multiplies outside the boundaries of the forum.

You are a good man... Sterling. ;)

It´s because of your wish to help and to support good causes that I happend to stumble upon this fine spot in cyber space to start out with. I´ve played Stingrays forever but I was not a part of this community before the trans black 20th Anni Stingray/Casey Lee Ball Foundation fundraising auction back in -07. And it´s that devotion that will keep me here. Doing it for publicity or not, I don´t care as long as it comes from the heart. And I´ve noticed that it does come from the heart in your case, sire.

Scott we need to figure out the best route but I really think this should have some media attention, not only to try and raise more cash for Erin but to show the rest of the world that compasion and good people do exist and as a bonus what a great forum we have thanks to BP's genoristy of hosting it.

I understand the desire to involve the media and get more outside support but I think you need to be careful how you go about this. It can get out of control with so many hits that the system bogs down and basically creates a Denial of Service condition. I think a separate venue should be looked at for setting up something like this. It can be a fund that can help many others created in the name of the EBMM Forum Members to help others. I would definitely support such a thing.

I don't want to sound negative just cautionary.

I am trying to figure out why nobody seems to want to listen to me....

Fing I love you but I have been in media for 30 plus years...I guided a golfer to #5 in the world and media coached and coordinated all media with him...to not basically ignore what I said is fine but Im not going along with it.

WE arent trying to convert Fender heads and we arent trying to impress anyone...we did this because we care for one another.

If there is media please dont waste it on a magazine with 200K circulation

Antman thanks but this will not cause a denial of service.....

this is a 30second soundbite with a network or a nice usa today piece

this is so true. I worked in the media for many years and it's interesting sitting on the other side of the fence. Trust me we received so many requests for stories that never got heard. I had John Denner out of 7am (prime time) and it was a great interview, but I wonder if it made an impact on Johns life? People hear things and then move on. What was achieved here with this forum has impacted Erin more than a GW story would ever do. In fact I think it would benefit EBMM more than Erin which in this case Sterling does not want and I respect him for that. Lets support Erin thru this forum and help him thru it and into the future. It's happened before and will happen again.

Total agree. This is a EBMM family thing and like all family issues, should be kept close to home. Our motivation was for Erin, our fellow member, in a time of need. We responded from the heart and the reward is knowing that we stepped up to help in a world where people tend to just sit by and do nothing. I am proud of us all. Getting Erin through this and being there for each other is indeed the main thing.

I didn't mean to stir things up, I was just looking for another way to help Erin get some more money. I just thought this act of gerenosity was noteworthy and people should hear about it. But in typical fashion, not just here, things get all dramatic like an episode of the View.

And with that, I just sent another $122.00 to Erin. Which brings our total up to;

$5724.94
+ 750.00 for the Fingbeagles Sub auction
+1950.00 for the money back from Beaver Felton

Thanks Again to everyone. This has already been too much.. I decided a long time ago that i was just going to let what happens, happen.. And then this came up. It was unbeliveable, but the media is not nescesary. Not for me anyway... Just know i am able to pay most of my current bills now and i would not be able to without all of you.

This is good enough for me

It Happened...

All the payments coming in vs. my usual use of paypal caused my account to go into review... I sent an email to them as requested explaining the unorthodox use.. I'm guessing all of the payments sent as gifts is what caused them to start asking questions.... If they don't restore my access by the end of the day i'll call and talk to someone. For the record i can still use my account it looks like the only thing i can't do is close my account...

This has been a fantastic experience.. I only wish i wasn't sick...

Thanks Again

Erin if you have full access to your account withdraw all the money to your bank account and / or phone a paypal customer service person to honestly explain the situation and if they still don't believe you email them the url of this very thread!! lol
