What is MoMark?

I went to the momark.it website. Started building my own. Freaked out that the eq. options didn't have the VLE and VPF knobs. Then I got to the Master module and was happy again.

I almost pooped my britches. phew.

Pete - if you pass this way again - yes, I'm diggin my MoMark very much, took delivery a few weeks ago. ONE THING - the screws that hold the modules it are basically sheet metal screws that go into the yellow plastic of the modules - not good for taking in/out/in/out when you swap modules. Please consider using machine screws into countersunk metal female taps - just like the ones you've got on the sides for rack ears. I've been swapping the pre amp modules (tube -> SS) back and forth, and will eat out the plastic pretty soon. Fortunately it stays in there pretty tightly anyway.

One other thing to note to prospectors - the more powerful amp chassis are digitial power amps, not A/B like the LMII, so they're going to sound different. I'd guess more along the lines of an SD800 - not an "eight hundred watt LMII," which is a Class A/B.

Pretty cool concept. I am interested to see how this plays out.

Run an amp flat all the time? Not me. I like toys. And boost the 32hz slider if ya got one! The mute and tuner out help while tuning in the middle of a set (never put a tuner in line!), I also love a variable input with an LED for overlaod/clipping on the input and the output.

Thanks for the feedback, and glad you're diggin' the MoMark!
I will pass on your comments about the screws to head office.
As you can probably tell, the modules don't need to be screwed in to work... I recommend screwing in the modules you never change or change rarely, and the others should stay in place snugly without screws unless you're tossing the amp around in heavy transit... Nonetheless ABS is a very strong material.
And you're correct that the power amp is digital with the 800W models. Would be very hard --if possible-- to operate an 800W AB power amp and heat sink in a head that size and weight. Although the the difference is noticed by some, our digital amps are often praised for their warmth, and anyone who's at all skeptical about digital power amps should try these before making any assumptions.

I'll let you do the math, cause the weight would vary depending on what combination you choose.

But here are the component weights:

Amp Frame 250 = 5.57 lbs
Amp Frame 500 = 7.49 lbs
Amp Frame 600 = 7.27 lbs
Amp Frame 800 = 7.27 lbs

Preamp modules:
S1 = 0.29 lbs
S1M = 0.3 lbs
T1M = 0.39 lbs

EQ Modules:
EQ0 = 0.28 lbs
EQ4 = 0.30 lbs
EQ42S = 0.34 lbs

Mater Modules:
M0 = 0.29 lbs
MVV = 0.3 lbs
MVVL = 0.33 lbs

Good question. As with the Little Marks, the MoMark rack ears are not included since it's a compact head and many will choose to use an amp bag instead.

That's what I'll do - and 'note to the public," don't lose the little wire tool MB supplies or you'll have a heck of a time getting the modules out - they do fit very snugly.
A small observation on amp feedback. If I inadvertently dime out the treble on my Bongo and stand too close to the amp, I get some high pitched squeal feedback. It's not too loud, but can be embarassing or annoying; and never had this problem with the LMII. I know this is a consistent problem, at least with the Avatar 2x12 I normally use for practice - always happens when I push up the treble for a particular funk song we do.

The size is in between the Little Marks and our "standard" heads:
