Haven't posted for a while and just found a vid on youtube that reminded me of some funny story I would like to share.
I was at Musikmesse in Frankfurt this year and attended two of Lucious' shows at the Agora stage. I stood in the second row and was able to see the backstage area from there. During the show the backdoor opened and some guy came in. At first I could not see who it was because of the poor lightening, but suddenly realized it was Al Di Meola. When luke had to change guitars to accoustic, Al brought the guitar up on stage instead of the guitar tech. Luke's reaction and especially the expression on his face was priceless.

Here's the link:

Hope you enjoy it!
Luke surely is da man!

Many of us on the forum have talked with him a bit at some EBMM gatherings. (MM Open house in SLO, Dallas birthday bash for bovinehost, EB Open house in Coachella) It's not like we know him, but from what little interaction we've had, I think we'd all agree:

Hilarious guy, amazing player, remarkably humble and approachable.

It's easy with Luke - and Steve Morse too. Rock stars or not, they are two of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure to meet.

Mike

I hear that about all of the MM signature artists. I met JP for the first time on Sunday in Chicago. He and the rest of DT were super cool for the short time I was back stage. I'm sure they were tired of doing the same thing night after night, too. JP lit up when I handed him the tremolo covers from my guitars.

I would love to just see SL or SM sometime. Meeting them would be a pleasure, too. They just don't seem to come very close to Cincinnati.
