Monday I am going to order a new EBMM. It will be my first and I have only played a Stingray 5H and an HS in a music store. I am selling something that I don't use that will provide me enough money to buy either one.
Just from the uniqueness I am leaning towards an Anniversary quilt top rosewood HH. I just need a little push of encouragement from some of you that may have been fortunate enough to own or play both. The look of the Anniversary is just appealing to me, and I have always been one to not have the same thing everyone else is playing. Nothing against the Rays because it is going to be one or the other. Help me decide ;)

From the looks of your post it seems you're leaning towards the 25th, so there lies your answer. The sr5 will always be a production model and even though the 25th will be too I doubt the tone block would be included. 25th now sr5 later :)

Do it!!!!

I have a 25th Anniversary 4HSS with Rosewood Fretboard and it is the bomb!!! The neck plays like a dream and the tone combinations are to die for!!!

Look, you will only get this opportunity to get that quilt top with the Rosewood neck. From Ed's review of the 25th HH it sound like an awesome instrument. If you are like the rest of us you will eventually get another EBMM which can then be a Stingray since they will be around but this 25th is only here now.

Do it!

It has to be your choice, but I highly recommend the 25th. Two things to keep in mind... You can only order the 25th this year... I don't believe there are any plans of discontinueing the Stingray, so you could always change your mind and go from a 25th to a Ray down the road, but it would be harder the other way around.

Secondly, if it matters to you, the 25th will be offered as a production model next year... Minus some of the bells and whistles (top, mohagony tone block, pearl inlays, etc).

Either way you won't go wrong but if you are leaning towards the 25th and just need a nudge.... *nudge* go for it you will be extremely pleased I think.

I think you all have nudged me just enough to pull the trigger on the Anniversary 5HH.
Good point that I can always add a Ray or maybe a Sterling or Bongo later.
I'm going to call my store and place the order on Monday. How long does orders usaully take on EBMM's ? Not that it matters just curious. :D

I'm going for the quilted top and rosewood fret board. :D

Good call :)

I am very sure that you will be happy that you went this way.

BTW, don't call customer service on this, as per BP, let your local dealer get a time frame. This will give you the real time frame since they have to receive it and you can check with them directly. BP says we are eating too much of CS bandwith. Just a heads up :)

the 25th is an excellent choice! :)

the sr5 you can get any day/month/year, the 25th only this year.. next year it will still be here but called something else, so taking the plunge this year was a good move ;)

As a recent 25th owner, you will be happy, crazy happy with your call.
All the best, and don't forget Pic's are mandatory.

I think that you will be very happy with your choice! Thanks for the support

Thanks BP, I know I will be! I'm not even actively playing with a band right now, been looking for a while. I'm being kind of choosy I suppose, looking for the right group of folks. When I do find the right situation with the 25TH and my recent new amp, I'll be gigging in style. ;) Thank you sir for all you do!
