Ok, well im at the stage where im pretty much ready to order a JP6 BFR.. but am torn between 2 finishes.. Tobacco Burst and Cherry Burst....

The thing is i havent really seen enough high quality pics of the Cherryburst. and as a result am undecided whether i would be happy with it. I do love the colour alot, but i know 100% that i would be happy playing live etc with a tobacco burst, but im only about 75% with the Cherryburst....

So what im asking is, does anyone have HIGH quality pics of the cherryburst? ie close ups of the body etc. thanks in advance :)

Personally i prefer the tobacco for it more conservative look, but the new subtle pinstripe detailing of the cherry burst is very nice!
The cherryburst is a tad more flashy inmho.

just a query is the cherry burst a full-time finish for the JP BFR's now or is it a limited thing?

I'm currently saving for a BFR so I was just thinking about this, I wouldn't know what to get. I love Tobacco Burst, but I'm also loving the Cherry Burst. I have to say though JP played both when I saw them last month and the Cherry Burst is just stunning, it definitely pops out more. Decisions, decisions...

I can see how you would be torn between the two. Both are awesome colors. I have to say that I lean a little more toward the cherry burst.

Cherry Burst FTW ;)

It's awesome - the lighter burst means that you don't just need bright light or outdoor shots to really see the figuring of the wood.
(eg. my BBB needs to have some serious light on it to really see the figuring.)

In fact, these outdoor shots of the CB actually wash some of the figuring out because it's so clear and transparent.

The top on this BFR is insane (twin to JP's)

Plus, the other bursts have the opaque black covering well past where the "pinstripe" is on the Cherry Burst (which means you see less top), whereas the Cherry/Red of the CB is still transparent.

IMO it's hand's-down the best colour

I've been meaning to get a recent group shot of my collection, so will try to get my ass into gear.

:)

How's about finding a dealer that will have a Dargie coming in soon?

kind of over the dargie now, awesome colour but i probably will never own one. and besides, i want a BFR and part of the reason i want one is the figures maple top, getting a dargie BFR kind of defeats that.. figured maple tops are my favourite, hence the struggle with the 2 colours i like...

thanks for the pics Dizz :)
