Hi fellow knuckleheads.
I have something on my chest I want to share with friends
I won a Luke on Evilbay. As a trustfull member, I am using PayPal, as the seller required.
As you may know, it takes up to 6 days, before the money is on the PayPal account.
I send the seller some e-mails: no replies.
Now I get the money back because the Luke is already sold!!
I promise you, when I am looking for another good MM, I will only buy it from a forum member.
Just another disappointment with Evilbay....

That's really unfortunate.

I've never had any problems in over 100 transactions on EBAY. I had one guitar that I purchased that I fealt didn't live up to my expectations....the seller promptly refunded my money.

You can call it Evilbay if you choose, but the bottom line is it is a wonderful outlet for buyers and sellers. Unfortunately, in every market there are going to be some questionable sellers (and buyers).

Dude sorry to hear that, it's crappy when that happens. If you won the guitar, the seller should have sold it to you instead of someone else.

There are plenty of Lukes around here, you never know there maybe one that's right for you.

Look, at least you got your money back. There could have been a situation the seller had to deal with and had to settle for quick payment? I don't know... But the situation could have have been a lot worse.

Then again, that's why I never guy guitars on eBay, only from forumites who are known here.

Better way to use paypal.

Instead of doing a transaction through paypal to add funds from your checking account (or credit card whatever), then waiting 6 days for the transaction to complete, then paying the ebay seller....

Insead of doing that, Just make the purchase with 0 funds in paypal. (instantly crediting the seller)
Paypal will then automatically withdraw the funds from your checking acount or credit card.

Much simpler.

Definitely give him a Negative feedback. If you won, you should have got the guitar period. You definitely need to get your funds instantly by a checking account or whatever.

I'm at 2200+ transactions and NO negatives, so I'm a huge proponent of Ebay.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I would say give negative feedback. If the seller chose Paypal, he/she should be willing to wait for your payment to clear. Otherwise, they should have chosen a different payment method.

eBay really blows of late,

I bought an amp a few weeks back the old fashioned way walked into a music shop spoke to the dealer, tested some stuff paid him money. - I swear it was like going to church...

I cant complain about transactions I've made everytime there was something wrong i always had my money back and thats the main reason but the bad side of it is when the guy(seller) cannot accept money he gets for the product he's selling then this type of things happen.

Thanks for the support guys!
If ever I am using Ebay and PayPal, then I am trying the way you mention Jonmo1, thanks.

Jamminjim, good luck with the Luke?? ;-))

I gave the seller negative feedback allright and Ebay has already send me an e-mail.

Better luck with a forumite next time.....

I have purchased one MusicMan off ebay, and another from this forum. Both were extremely smooth transactions... and oh so nice guitars.
