Glen, welcome! Glad to have ya here. One suggestion I have is that the GC stores should carry more EBMM guitars. My local GC (Oxford Valley, #851) only has two EBMM guitars (a pearl redburst JP & a 25th anniv.). I'd definitely like to see them getting more guitars in there.

Hi,

we are definitely working on it...

Thx!

From one Glenn to another Glen, Welcome!!!

I was at my Natick Mass store last weekend and they had the most EBMM guitars I've ever seen, they had a Luke, Silo, JP. They seem to have the standard Stingray and Sterlings, but no Big Al's or Bongos.

Let me know if and when your in Natick, I'll make it a point to stop by and say "Hi" and meet.

Welcome Glen! My only request is that the GCs in Northern Virginia start carrying some EBMM guitars finally! It's a pain having to drive to MD to check them out when new stuff comes out. :D

Hi Glen. Give me a heads up when you end up coming by the Sherman Oaks store. I work in accessories. You should drop by after 2 though, since I close ;) That goes for you too bp! And ps, we need more 25ths. We got one and a celeb's daughter snagged it same day. My name is James Demetra, hope to see you soon!

Hi Glen!

I'm in Pittsburgh, and the two GC's in the area generally have zero EBMM guitars in stock. The Robinson Township ("Pittsburgh") store had a few when it first opened, and I haven't seen any beyond the initial stock.

The Monroeville store is older and also had some guitars years ago, but I haven't seen any in there lately.

Now, I don't get to those GC's too often anymore because I don't hold out much hope of finding MM guitars (both stores have EBMM basses though). Each store is about a 40-minute drive for me one-way, so it's a long haul just to go and find they have no guitars of interest.

I know that GC has designated some stores for more EBMM product than others. I also suspect that there's not a giant market for EBMM guitars here in Pittsburgh since the ones they once had here seemed to be in the stores for a long time and were eventually blown out. (Still kicking myself for missing a great blowout on an Axis at the Robinson store a few years ago.)

I wonder if they might consider shuffling some of the EBMM stock from store to store if it doesn't sell within a certain time frame? I understand the extra shipping costs would add up.. but maybe they can come up with something somewhat cost effective, since they obviously ship a lot of product.

Anyway, just another knucklehead idea. :D

Welcome, Glen. When you get to the Guitar Center in Madison, WI, please tell them to get some Music Man guitars in stock. They have some basses, but no guitars.

We'll work on it...

Sweet! A local GC lost out on a sale to me of a 30th Anniversary StingRay, because they couldn't sell me the right case.

Would you mind letting me know what store this was so I can look into it.

Thx!

Hey Glen,

Read your post on the bass side about shop worn MM basses, may want to do the same for shop worn MM guitars, the North Dallas store has a Luke and 2 PBB Axis super sports that have been there quite awhile, one of the PBB AXis Super Sports has been so abused and there so long that someone took the original volume and tone knobs and they had to put non EBMM knobs on it but never a mark down, just a thought:)

Maybe mid November. I'll let you know when it's confirmed. I'll try to get a Big Al over there as well...

They should be doing the same on the guitars. Look for Robbie, Austin or Jon Hernandez (GM) and they should hook you up for sure...

Glenn was talking about the Natick, MA store.
I'd also like to commend them for setting up a separate EBMM rack. Last time I was there, they had 2 lukes, a silo and a JP. They also had a rosewood neck BFR tb ASS hanging on the wall behind the counter.

A suggestion for them. Both luke's had the springs so loose that the trems were pulled a good 1/4 inch off the body. I noted it when I tried tuning and found it was impossible.

Both lukes had the same problem. The JP, Silo and ASS were fine (yes, I've played them all).

The number of EBMM guitars there is much, much better with this new display. Before this, I had never seen more than 2 and usually only one EBMM skinny stringer anywhere in the store at a time.

I also have a question. Should they check and restring guitars as the strings corrode? I was in the Manchester, CT store last night and tried a Luke, which I really, really liked, but the strings were clearly corroded. I'd expect this on a used guitar at a Daddy's but not with a new Musicman. That store had more EBMMs than I've ever seen at any GC (except maybe North Dallas). At least 3 Lukes, 2 25ths, a silo, don't even remember what else there....and sterling by musicman guitars scattered around sort of randomly. I was only there maybe half an hour (8pm to 8:30pm) as I was waiting to meet someone.

They have a 25th? Looks like I'm taking a trip up there next weekend!
