Was it the evh or axis that came in pink? How many were made? I used to know but I am drawing a blank currently...

Anyone have a direct link of the pink axis in Japan? I couldn't find it on the site.

BTW, there's an emerald green Luke on there now.

No direct link. I'm away from my computer, but if you look at the ishibashi site, the pink one appears to be red at first. It's says "tpk" under it. I'm guessing that means trans pink.

What's up with the EX? What does that mean?

It's gone!

Were they not Axis EX guitars though?

I'm not 100%... but I don't think they were EX.
They had the legit axis logo, the "made in SLO/CAL/USA" on the back of the neck and the standard toggle switch placement. As far as i'm aware, the EX models do not indicate the model name or 'made in usa' and feature toggle switch placement like the evh.

So what IS an Axis EX exactly?

I am far from full bottle on it... but as I understand, they were EBMM but japanese and haven't been in production for some time. Legit USA EBMM hardware but different woods/neck carves/construction and assembled in Japan. Both the axis and the stingrays were made.

There were lots of differences.... no tummy cut, evh toggle location, no model name on head stock, apparently vastly different neck carves and i'm not 100%, but maple tops were different... either thinner/laminates/caps or something. Others may be able to elaborate further.. This is just what i've read previously :)
