Ok, no genital pun intended.:p

I once walked into a metal jam carrying my white Silo Spec and got the oddest looks from the young punks wielding LTDs, Ibanezes and Les Pauls. (Even some PRSs, but very few)

The look I got was something like: "erm... old man, you sure you're in the right place? the blues jam is thataway!"

But then when they finally heard me chugging away, (thanks to the FRED!)they all came and asked to try my guitar after the jam... Whahahahaha.:D

I was talking to this Junior on my school bus and we were wearing the same guitar shirt. He's kind of a tool sometimes, and he said that he actually played guitar. I said I do too and he asked what kind of guitar I have. I said an Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci, and he says something like "Wow, is that some kind of piece of crap Toys R Us guitar? Go get a Fender or Ibanez or Gibson." I didn't argue with him because I know that he's extremely ignorant, as are a lot of people because of name recognition. I was kinda pissed about it then, but I now realize how ignorant he is of something he has never even seen or played and is putting it down, so a couple minutes later I just laughed about it.

And that was without him even seeing the guitar. But if I did show up somewhere with it, I don't think people would give me looks because it's an awesome looking guitar, not too "out there," and the color is sick.

Whahahaha!!!!

I've never gotten that, though once in a while I do get the usual "why EBMM?" question. Most people I've come across know of EBMM and its fantastic reputation for beign great guitars, though most have never seen or tried one.

A group of about half a dozen guys ran straight up to me after a gig.
"Oh My God!! DUDE! That OLP sounds f***ing amazing!"

I tell them it's a real EBMM and can you believe it, they were all totally unaware OLP was Officially Licensed Product.
Haha they were like "Wow, there are real ones !?!"

It's pretty hard to advocate for Perth when stuff like this happens

I typically only play my Axis or P.. Wolfgang, and to the untrianed eye, they look like twins.

Actually, I only get, ".... hey man, wow, what kinda of guitar is that?" I always say yeah, it's the baddest guitar out there.

If you can find an Axis - buy it!!:)

When I was playing live last summer in Korea, I got a real odd look when playing my JP.

I'm a 6'3" Korea at 245lbs. People told me it looked like a toy on me, haha But everyone dug the Mystic Dream finish.

Great idea. Here comes my story:

Once I played a direct support for Iron Maiden at stadium for 3o ooo people. I was carrying my JP07LE on the stage (for the first time on live performance) and at the same time it was my first gig after cutting my long hair. The reaction of the people were: "What the hell? What this pop dude is doing on the stage? He looks like young disco player with his blue guitar" (this is actually quotation taken from forum)...All changed after I hit the first note and gave the public this tasty, wonderful chord. After all they said that "it was huge supprise and we had a great time with those guys." In the end people started to ask what guitar was that, because it's sound was just amazing :))

So not only they got thrilled, but I had a wonderful show and life-time experince from that night! I'm so happy I could make it with EBMM!!!

take care,
Mike

Once I was practicing with my band in a studio of my friend's and after we finished playing some younger players saw my guitar case and they all stoped talking and stared at me and my case(guitar was already in the case). After I took few steps I heard them talking about my musicman, they were saying what a great guitar I had and they were all jealous. I felt extremly happy after that. :)

I am a well known guitarist in the city I live and when people heard that I bought a musicman, many of the musicians called and congratulated me even I didn't tell all the people I got a musicman :) I am the only one who has a musicman around here and it is a good advertisement for me, maybe I can get more extra work this year :)

I think I told this story before, but last year at a gig, as I was loading in, a guy saw my EBMM guitar case and asked what kind of bass I played. I told him that I played guitar. He just looked at me and asked again what kind of bass I played. (he might have been slightly inebriated) So I told him again that I played guitar. He said "but Music Man makes basses!" I showed him my JP and he just looked at it for a minute and said "dudddddee, you need a Les paul and a Marshall" I asked him why and he said "because it's the best." I asked him why they were the best and couldn't explain why. He also said that he had never played guitar before.

hmmmmmmm. It's amazing how trained people are to accept advertsing.

I never doubted musicman before just never heard of em at first and now I'm the happiest man on earth with mine =]

Cool story... when/where was the gig? Did you get to interact at all with the guys from Maiden?

Also... if I may ask, what is the name of the band you play in? (Forgive my ignorance if this is a well known fact on this forum...)

I have to be honest, when I have played out, I haven't had any comments positive or negative about my EBMM guitars.

Same here. The worst look was from my wife when I bought my 3rd Ball (the 20th). It was a look of confusion , followed by a look of anger :(, followed by: "OK, why did you NEED this guitar". To which I replied: "Great question, honey. You see.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................and that's why I bought the 20th.

not really a strange look but my my friend/neighbor (founding bassist for mudhoney and the melvins) when he saw my Albert his face lit up like a christmas tree. 'cool rig man" He then said I have seen the stingray's but did not know about the Albert. he said nice guitar and then showed me some riffs.

Thanks :) It was August 2008, Gwardia Stadium in Warsaw, Poland. I don't think I mentioned that before, but my band is called Made Of Hate.

As for the interact with Maiden guys...well, it was tricky, because they were so protected by security guys so we weren't able to get in touch with them. Only fast greetings and some cheerful gestures. Maybe next time, who knows :D

Silo Bass - too strange for some!

Probably sitting in at a jam session using my Silo Bass. Got few puzzled looks re is that aguitar? Is it a bass? (sounds like both??) Plus as a lefty player it's the wrong way around! No matter it sounded OK.

In the end it was a couple of guys who were into Duane Eddy/Jet Harris of the Shadows who figured what sort of guitar it was.

But the average listener is not bothered what sort of guitar you play - it's whether they like what they hear.

Really. The only comments I get are "dude, you should play some Metallica".

Actually my favorite comment was when we were playing 'I'd Love to Change the World'. After the line, "Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no, rich no more", I heard someone yell out "You commie"! ;)

(It was actually a friend of mine, who was kidding. Made me laugh nonetheless)

Opened my guitar case in my music room at my high school. One of my friends (loves DragonForce, I know, I know (thinks H. Li is > Petrucci...w/e)) is like, "Can I see it?" I open the case.

"Holy ****. That is a SHREDDER guitar! Sick!"

I was all 8D!
