hi, i just got a bongo 6 HH there during the week, its great but ive been playing it through my proper amp today and yesterday and 3 times ive heard a pop pretty loud now in the house im in atm the power/sockets are a bit dodgy so im hoping its just that i am bringing my amp back to my house which should be better power but otherwise what could it be with the bass?...
i have very bad luck with buying stuff... ive prettymuch had to send back everything expensive ive ever bought so im hoping that its not the bass..
i thought it was my phone in my pocket till this morning when it happened when the phone was nowhere near.

i cant put a finger on a coommon thing ive been doing with the bass each time no real clue as to why its happening...

i was playing through a crappy 10 watt amp during the week and i never heard such a noise so that gives me hope that its just the power

i find most of the time its the cable that is the culprit. poor connection and then you move around and the cable shakes = no connection at all
if the strings are close to the pickup they would make noise if they hit the polepieces. do you play hard?

other than that there are too many things it could be, but those 2 are the most common (at least in my book :))

+1 on Mr Musashi's first thoughts, when you say" the power sockets are a bit dodgy" what do you mean? Are you in the US? Are you using an adaptor on the plug from the amp ? I hope it's the stings hitting the pickup poles from aggressive playing or your jack and not something electrical.

well this houses power is just a bit **** sockets dont always work properly have to fiddle with them to get them to work.. im in europe, the amp is plugged into a 4 plug adapter with a surge protector thing, ivr left the amp plugged in and on without the bass in, and so far no pops.. but its only happened 3 times in 2 days of playing every now and then so it could still just bepower i suppose but most likely cable or bass,
nah i dont play aggressively, pick near the bridge so strings barely move, pickups arent high either so pretty sure theres no way theyre hitting the poles.

anything else i can check for?

*update, just plugged in a different bass and it happened again.. so happy atleast its not the bongo anyway...
hopefully just the cable.
