Freddels I weighed one yesterday just to confirm and it was exactly 8.5 lbs. Just curious how much does your 25 year old cordura bag weigh?

(Freddels, just so you don't think I'm overly serious I didn't notice the smilie until after I posted so I guess you were joking to a certain extent? Sometimes it's hard to tell on the internet but just wanted to get accurate info out there anyway!)

I bought it around 1983/84 at a music store in Denton, TX when I was a student at NT. It was around $85 back then. It's a padded bag that has protected my basses through the years. Of course, I wouldn't send it through the airline baggage as it is but to carry around, it's great. It weighs about 3.5 lbs on my trusty bathroom scale. :)

I have an iGig bag that has lots of protection but it's a heavy bag w/o a bass in it. I would love to try out the Reunion Blues Continental bag.

Update: I went to a GTG this weekend and one of the bass players recognized my gig bag and said that it's an early Reunion Blues. :D

We went to vegas for our 21st anniversary over the weekend and damned if I didn't find a stingray on craigslist there. A real beauty with a maple fretboard! Came in a gigbag, so I immediately started worrying about how I was going to get it home. I thought about taking the neck off and bought a screwdriver but thought I would try to take it on the plane as carry on. United let me take it on and I was able to put it in the storage bins above my seat. I feel quite lucky! I will post pictures when I get a chance of my new bass.

This is encouraging...
