I'm amazed they didn't prove popular, I think tobacco and walnut would have been top of my list if I was going to order .....maybe I'm just strange :p

If green was available on a non BFR ASS, I would have bought it instead of the Cherry burst one I just ordered.

On a business perspective I have a question for BP. Why cancel a finish that barely gets sold? In a "normal" production environment this seems logical because you get stock that doesn't sell, but you guys don't make stock right (every guitar is for someone)? :)

Have to say I'm surprised about the Tobacco Burst- would have thought that would be a seller.

Ah well ... on to whatever's new.

Here's how I look at it even though I'm not BP - If you stock colors that don't sell well, then you wind up sitting on the paint (minimum quantities of inventory) for that 1 guitar ordered every 3 years (did we sell anything in neon yellow this year? no? well maybe next year or 2011), not to mention having that paint on hand for warranty and/or UPS damage claims. Paint isn't cheap, either...

its inventory its the hassle of making one once in a while...the labor....you load the gun with the color paint one guitar and the break down the entire system and thoroughly clean it.....about an hour...we loose on those cant loose too much anymore

That's how Ford made/saved money originally - one color - Black!

Makes sense BP - Not like you don't have a bunch of great colors still in the line-up.

funny, I'm not a JP guy (have an Axis SS and EVH), but I was just thinking the other day if I did get a JP one day, the Walnut would be freakin sweet. Or Tobacco Burst.....which I am hoping the 25th/Reflex comes in!

Thanks for keeping us posted BP.

If it doesn't sell, then it's the right choice. Were lucky to have a company that releases great finishes yr after yr. Just wait till thurs till u all see my new finish....right pete??
