I stopped into Guitar Center to pickup a gig bag yesterday, and they had this beauty on clearance (about $700 off their regular price):

I might go back for the SR5 they had on sale.

There is a sweet Carbon Blue Pearl Bongo 5HS in GC Paramus, NJ for a great price. It's about 30 minutes from my house, and if GC is willing to recoup the two-way tolls for the George Washington and Whitestone Bridges, we might have a deal.

Bummed. Nothing on clearance at the Tempe, AZ GC. Though they did have a nice selection of the Sterling by Musicman stuff and one of the Guitar Center Anniversary Editions as well as a Stealth SR5.

No, wasn't aware they weren't marked as clearance. Good to know if I head back.

Did you just ask if the Stingrays were on clearance, or was there some GC
'code word' :)

GC Buffalo has 3!
A SR5 in Honeyburst
A Stingray HH in Black Sapphire
A Sterling in Natural

The SR5 still had the plastic on the pickguard! And according to Sarah they had all be set up recently by the stores guitar tech.

Thanks Rex this thread is making its rounds through the biggie at GC...let the knicks have an idea what they are getting these shopworn pieces for.....
950-ish for the SR4s, about 100 more for Sr5s, cases included in those prices.

Tiff, the Honeyburst one didn't call to me as much as the Tobacco one did.

I got a quote of $960 out the door on an SR4...It was in BAD shape, the tuners were rusted, the setup was appalling, and the strings were at least 1000 years old! :( I borrowed some tools from the setup guy and setup every one of the Rays in the store...I think there were 3 SR4s and 4 SR5's if I am not mistaken. I was waiting for someone there and spent about 5 hours or so doing the setups and playing an SR4 I wound up taking home. I hope that they give better treatment to the ones that will take the place of the ones that get sold...

Peace,

T
