My young apprentice, you have taken your first step down a much wiser path. Once a youngster like yourself, I too saved penny upon penny to buy my first ball. A green EVH, which I sold last year for multiple times what I paid. While I do miss seeing "old Bessie", I now let all the honeys light my cigars for me while we're hot tubbin'.
Yeah. I'm pretty excited  :D. This will hopefully replace my Parker Fly as my main ax.

Uhhh dude, my parents didn't pay for this.

Sorry, I seemed to have missed the 'saving' part of the original post. A just reward for saving, indeed. You certainly have great taste in gear. I have a bass-playing daughter about a month older than you that has grown up around EBMM gear. She insisted on buying her first bass with her own money.

Post pics when it arrives!

Yeah, the salesguy said probably a couple of weeks. Does anyone know how long an EB takes to be built on average? Mine only had options listed on the site, nothing custom.

Hey Will,

Another fellow Canucklehead.:D Good to see more guys from the East Coast on here. Great choice for your first BALL. Candy Red is a cool colour.

In my experience some salesmen seem to low ball the ETA of the guitars cause 1. They just don't know or 2. They don't want to lose a sale when customer find out about the build time. A while back I think the build time was about 3 months. It might be a little quicker than that now. But, I highly doubt you're going to get it in a couple of weeks.

I ordered mine on October 14th, and I received an ETA of mid to late December.

That's pretty good. So they're down to 2-2.5 months.

The bad thing is, I guess because of the economy there aren't as many orders as normal so the wait periods aren't as long as they have been in the past.

However, yours is a lefty, might that bring the wait up ?

Don't think having a lefty made has anything to do with it. Most of us on the forums have had long waits. At one time the wait period was 3-4 months. You just have to sit back and go with the flow. Waiting is the hardest part. But at the end of it you'll have a kick ass guitar.
