It's like Christmas and the kid says 'I know you got me that really neat fire truck but now I want the airplane too, can I get it, huh, can I, please?!?

What a bunch of brats we're becoming!!! Not to mention the rude 'Yo' in the title!

Flame me if you want, but give EBMM a break.

Exactly. It raises the question: Maybe Sabres were just not as good as alternative models? I nver played one, so I have no idea, but there must be a reason nobody bought them, and to be honest I can't imagine them being any better than ,say, a Bongo.

That said, I would probably end up with one if EBMM decided to make them again!

The world wasn't ready for a dual pickup Musicman for several decades. Once they were gone no one missed them for a while. It took until around Y2K before people started asking for a dual pickup version.

P's outsold J's by far back in the day too, then at some point, the dual pickup J surpassed it.

The original Sabre basses were introduced in 1979 and lasted until the original MM went under about a year later. Not much time for a model to gain in popularity. I bought a used one back in 1983 for $250 from the old Danny's Guitars here in Austin. I always liked them and really liked the EB version as well. Here is a clip with Tiran Porter playing one from way back when.

No flame necessary. I think this is more of a brainstorming session than a "I want" tantrum. EBMM doesn't need a break. When you offer as much innovation and variety as they do EVERYDAY, and when you are as close to your customers as they are EVERYDAY, you get used to requests and input from your customers EVERYDAY - some of them crazy and frustrating. Eventually, though, an idea or suggestion makes sense on both sides of the register and it gets done. BP, I hope I'm right on this - no disrespect intended.

Know what happens when you take a break? Road Worn(TM). Who asked for that?:confused:

Having attended the whole weekend's extravaganza, I'm here to agree that BPL was pretty much the cat's pajamas. The EBMM Lounge rocketh and rolleth and the new Classics were show-stoppers indeed. While we're on the interesting reissues thread, why not a Cutlass/100th Anniversary NAMM with graphite neck? Take your time, of course, Music Men, until we've all bought two Big Als and Classics each, including one in the sensational mythical silverburst finish, which seemed to the buzz all up and down Sunset Blvd.
