Well, as some of you may know, I ordered a red Silhouette on Saturday. I was quite happy with this, as the store told me it would be a couple of weeks. However, most of the people here on the forum corrected this, and told me 2-3 months was the norm. A quick email to EBMM, and this was confirmed. So thus, I'm stuck waiting 3 months for the guitar. I'm currently in a position where I really, really can't wait 3 months, as I've got recordings and gigs coming up, and no suitable guitar to use. So I'm unsure of what I should do, as I have a couple of options:

1. Just wait the 3 months for the Silhouette to come in.

2. Cancel the Silhouette order and buy a used Silo or JP6 somewhere online

3. Cancel the Silhouette order and buy an already built, new Silo or JP6 somewhere online.

4. Cancel the Silhouette order and hold onto my money, waiting for the right deal.

5. Other (Please suggest).

I'm really unsure of what to do. I've my sights set on owning an 24 fret EB with a non locking tremolo, but I don't think I can wait 3 months for one. Any advice would be appreciated.

you can also look at Guitarcenter.com and look in their Used Gear section... there are several Silhouettes on there and some of the prices are Amazingly low.

ah the gas strikes hard doesnt it. like i said in your previous post . do some searching and try and locate one or a similar spec in a different colour. have a look in the for sale thread theres some great guitars in there. and you can garuntee theyll have been well looked after , if there a knucklehead. i would have absoloutley no hesitation in buying a second hand ebmm if the right one came along. there built so well there bullet proof and you can pick up some exellent deals. i would go with getting a second hand one. IF you cant locate a new one. in a colour you like.

Are your buying from L&M? Keep the Silo on order and put the JP on they're monthly payment plan. For a little extra $$ you can have 2 EBMMs.

How about asking the dealer for a "loaner" until your guitar comes in? They might have something used that you can get through your gigs with. It may not be a Ball, but it could tide you over for a few months. Just a suggestion to contemplate.

Long & McQuade always have guitars to rent. Check out what they have and make a deal. They will be more than happy to help you.

I'd cancel the order and try and pick something up used if you really really need it pronto.
Another Nova Scotian, eh?. Jeez, soon we'll be running this place ;). Is that a Mystic Dream JP6 I see in your profile picture? EDIT: If I'm not mistaken, you post on the Petrucci forums too?

Anyway's, I've come to the conclusion that there's only really 3 options.

1. Wait for my Silhouette to come in.

2. Have my salesguy scour the country looking for another Silo in stock at each L&M location, and I'd pick one to my liking, if applicable.

3. Buy another in stock new one, or used one, from somewhere else.
