Took the Big Al to a get together of some local bass players last Saturday. Spent some time with the attendees going through the different sounds available. It turned a lot of heads. I thought this picture was kind of humorous so I figured I should share! I must say, I'm pretty excited to be getting another one here real soon.

Yeah, the Big Al is impressive.

Some Friends of mine that are heavily into vintage F.-stuff and very expensive boutique basses even had to admit the Big Al sound really great in a lot of settings.

We compared the middle pickup-sound to 3 early 60ies P-Basses and the Al came close. It does not sound exactly like a splitcoil, but the effect in the mix is the same.

Also we found out that you can emulate an Alembic Series one when you select neck and bridge and boost bass and high mids in active mode.

P and Series one in one bass is something the world has not seen before....
