Well if bongoloids have a name...

Just came in today!

photo-5.jpg

That was while it was in The Perfect Bass. I'll wait to take better pictures once I get a tort guard. It'll look alot sexier then!

As I said I am eating my words I was dissing two pickup basses, so I go out and buy a 3 pickup..

When I first saw the big Als I thought I'll wait till they come out with a 5 string, something about them at first just screamed 5 string to me. I like the different design much like the bongo but a little more of a classic design.

She sounds great! Though I'm still a single h kinda guy this is a nice difference!! Thanks Brandt!

I'll write more when I get to an actual computer, and not an iPhone.

If you have Bongoloids.... maybe there should be Big Al-coholics....

I can think of a few folks where the moniker might fit....

Just sayin....

Pretty, and I'd say give this colour scheme a chance. I really like the contrast between the fingerboard and pickups against the white.

I really like the sounds! Although my favorite two would be coil 1 & 2 in series, which gives you that classic ernieball sound. And the 2nd and 3rd for a deep heavy tone or use with a pick. I find that 1 & 2 or 1 & 3 in parallel gives you a much lower output much less agressive woody tone. As for the active and passive it's great, if you want an agressive ernieball sound with more tone shaping than I'll use the active, if I'm looking for a smoother sound I'll use passive and roll of the treble a bit, it's been a while since I owned a bass with a tone knob. I think it's great for switching tones during songs if called for with the push of a button.

As for pickguard, I already have the tort on order and don't think I could live with the white pearl pickguard.

I would have prefered a maple fretboard, but maybe with a candy red or the gold color, but this was available and I wanted it then and there.
