Of course; just a play on words. I saw my handle and couldn't resist. This is just a forum, after all. I am sometimes persuasive.
You have it easy. I got the Bongo first, THEN had to explain why I needed a 25th! I am preparing my thesis on why I need a Big AL.
My wife got to be more understanding of my sickness right after the first time we got to attend an EB party.
Without that we would always be at odds over a new bass.

hang out on the forum. Easy as that.
And how often do these EB parties occur? Are they in California?
Well boys, its official. She said I can save for a Bongo! Wow...I never thought honesty would work. Mind you I offered to take her to Cuba on a nice trip so there was some deal making happening here. But good for me! A new bass AND Veradero Beach.
So...now comes the next question
Remember also that I have Sterling 4H with maple fretboard. I want this Bongo to be very different.
1. HS or HH? Which one should I get? I am looking for a deep rich tone. I want flatwounds on this baby. So I am leaning towards the HH. Does this sound like a good idea?
2. I think I want a rosewood fretboard.
3. I think I want 4 strings only...5 confuses me.
4. Colour...Blue Pearl looks nice...My Sterling is red. Or Black....
5. If I get the Blue Pearl, what colour pick guard??
6 When I order this baby, how long does it take? Oddly enough, the longer the better. I am paying cash for this thing, no credit cards so gives me time to save up the money.
I have a Bongo 5 HH and a Bongo 5 single H. Don't rule out the single H, it KILLS!
I suggest since you like flatwounds that you consider the piezo option. Please see my review of ebmm flatwounds with the Bongo on this forum

Great news Powman!
The H is great because it is so different to the HH and HS due to the pickup placement and 3 band EQ, but as you want it completely different to the Sterling you have, go for a dual pickup monster. I have the HS but if you want the phattest flatwound tone ever definitely get an HH.
I have not had a chance to try the single H in a Bongo, only an HH. Since you have both, what is it about the single H that you like so much?
I think I am goint to place my order tomorrow. The bass will be
1. 4 String
2. HH
3 Rosewood fretboard.
4. Colour???? I want Egyptian Smoke, but its not available is it?? I am torn between Stealth Black, Saphire Black and Blue Pearl...
What do you all think??? What colour should I get?
ALL Bongo's (save Dargie II's) have Rosewood boards.... so now it is just a matter of color in stock.Good luck.
