I didn't need to go that far...just needed to be honest with her. Told her I wanted to save up for one more bass...she wanted a trip in exchange. Fair enough, I said!
But did you really do that?
Lie and cheat on your wife you are a squat to pee man in my book.
Real men are at the very least honest.
We all get our wives mad at us sooner or later but lying and cheating are non forgivable things in a woman's eyes as they should be.
If you lie to get a bass shame on ya. You will suffer for it if your wife doesn't strangle you.
Most wives will let a hubby get anything he wants as long as he is reasonable.

When I was strictly a 4-string player, a 5-string would disorient me. Now a 4-string disorients me since I currently only play 5-string and have only played 5-string for going on 10 years now. For me personally there's NO reason to own a 4-string (which I don't.) I do, however, respect players who are able to switch back and forth and I imagine that the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

You guys are crack me up. The latest idea I have actually may not cost me too much. I've got a meeting in Lucerne Switzerland in March. I offered to let her tag along. Fly her there on points, stay in my already paid for hotel room. This might work out just fine and not cost me a nickel.

You people are silly. Best reason to play in the first place is to keep your brain energized. I'm 53, just switched to a fiver this year. Takes about a month to get the hang of it (eg, not thinking you're on the "E" when you're on the "B", another month to be able to exploit the differences ("wow. I can play this all this stuff right here without racing back to the nut"), and another month to be able to switch hit on the fly without gooning yourself up.
I'm no expert at spouse management, but you could easily spend that sort of bread on several fly fishing rods, tackle box and waders and never land a fish.

I absolutely agree with "The very classic basses are four stringers." I wish I could get MY head around being able to switch between 4-string and 5-string.
Maybe if I drank more beer!

No, I'm in Zurich, but in Switzerland, everything is close compared to other countries distances. I mean, I've just been to São Paulo, and it's absolutely normal to spend 1-2 hours in the car driving to a some place to eat or listen to music. Within the city.
I'm just not so sure about the Weissbier... I prefer the Bavarian brands for that... but we do have very nice lagers on tap. And some very tasty special beers from local breweries.
Anyway, back on topic, how's your wife going

I also go to Zurich a lot. The head office is in Stafa, just outside of Zurich.
I am checking with head office to see if it would be ok to bring my wife. That would make her quite happy!
