Hi All:

I've been looking REAL CLOSE at the SR4 HSS 25th Anniversary bass. It looks very cool. It's dear enough that there isn't one anywhere near me that I can play to see what it's all about. It's price is a bit prohibitive for me to 'buy & try'.

I am wondering if this bass will become a regular production instrument? Maybe less some of the fancy amenities such as the quilt top and binding. I'm sure there's alot of R&D / setup involved in producing such an instrument. I would think that the payoff comes in volume production and sales. I'm sure that selling the premium grade instruments helps defray the cost of introduction, but I am wondering / hoping that these instruments may be available to the masses with the same sonic features less the fancy presentation package.

Does anybody know?

Yes, I think most of us know as follows:

1) Its not an "SR4" 25th Annyversary but just a 25th Anniversary no SR in the name

2) it will be offered in similar specs but without the fancy top, as from 2010 under the new name which is REFLEX

3) as for the wood used in the Reflex I personally am not sure, because I don't remember reading a mention about it, but at least now you know this models will continue to be produced.
