I have a (probably silly) question for owners of the 25th basses:

How do you find the smaller tuning pegs on the headstock compared to the standard elephant ears ones used on the other EBMM basses, such as StingRays, Bongos, Sterling, Big Al etc?

Is tuning with these any different? Is it easier or less easy, any difference at all?

Thanks

It hasn't bothered me at all! I don't even notice it now. They are still way bigger than guitar tuning pegs. :)

Frankly, I prefer the "classic" open ones (Schaller BML type) over the modern closed ones (Schaller M4 type). To me, the M4 is almost too light and needs very little movement to adjust. But that's really a personal preference, and not any judgement on the quality or usability of these tuners. They are both excellent machines.

I think the ease of tuning is the same. But I think they look and feel classier.

I find my 25th Ann. 5H a little neck heavy so the fact that they are supposed to be lighter is a good thing.

You do realize what you've just said? The consequences could be dire:-

Guys, Thanks for all your replies but lets stop here with the out of context comments, before we pi$$ the big man off, and then it is I that gets the blame for starting the thread. :D

I only wanted to know how the smaller machineheads work compared to the standard ones. The question has been answered perfectly, and I thank you kindly, but I am not interested in neck dive theory or headstock size. Thanks.
