what would want to see? an exact rendering of the JP7 or take some liberties and do something different? how important is it to have a tremolo bridge?

would a hard tail work?

Just talking here. I am not making any promises. I would have to go before the committee and plead my case. Give me some ideas and I'll go pitch it to the big guys.

A hardtail JP??? I dont want one without that great Sterling JP Tremolo.

I would like to see an exact rendering of a JP7 and I dont think I'm alone.

I'd totally buy a Sterling JPM7. Thing is, I'm not really a hardcore 7 stringer or metal player so $2000+ just for "playing around" is out of the picture. But say... $600-700 for a quality axe sounds totally reasonable.

a render would be cool. for budding 7 stringers, i dunno how important a trem is.

of course, i'm not a trem user. i own 3 jps but don't use the trem. i think brand pickups would be better than a trem.

if you're appealing to the general public, then some liberties may be taken. but remember how much of your client share might be a dyed in the wool JP fan.

God would I give my life for a Hardtail Silo 7... I'd buy at least 2, guaranteed

A hardtail Silo 7 does sound interesting. Yeah, I don't see paying over $1k for a 7-string guitar as I just don't know if i would really like owning one. But a moderately priced 7-string makes it much more appealing to just 'give it a shot'.

I have to agree with you on the trem and pickups....one of my favorite thigns about a 7 string is all the craaazy tuning options you can do with it, a trem restricts this a lil but also has major upsides

If I had to give my opinion, I'd say JP7-based, with the official pickups, and a hardtail (if that cuts the cost a little). If the trem isn't a cost-reducing option, then just stick with that. I'd say 700-825$ Canadian would be a good range too, because then it's around Ibanezeseseseseseseseseseseses and Schecters, if not a bit lower. Also, one new colour for it? A silver colour, if I had to suggest one.

I think you're all crazy for wanting to drop the trem in favor of a hardtail! Blasphemy!

I think a Sterling JP7 would sell, it would be a quality 7'er with a reasonably price. Not a hardtail, I think you should stick to the idea to have people to buy a 'budget MM'. Don't offer anything that isn't an option at MM, there are quite a few faboys who want the package of their hero's, not a rip off.

But, and this is a whole other question: Isn't it wiser if Sterling launches a Luke model, as it is (AFIIK) the second best selling signature model?
