I appreciate the sentiments of collectors, different strokes for different folks, but I find the things that we make are meant to deteriorate and decay over time. 'Tis the nature of things.

Perspective is all subjectivity, but I buy guitars to play them. Although history and sentiment means a lot to people, there's still nothing worse than a guitar that isn't being played. Guitar's were made for music. Play 'em till they can't be played no'mo.

I'm probably not the first one to figure this out but I feel special for doing so :p....the reason they made 26 goldtops is Eddie's birthday is Jan 26 and they made 16 solid black ones because Wolfgang was born March 16th

well...this was ed's guitar. poppa acknowledged that.

i imagine everyone probably said the same thing about '59 les pauls...and look where that went.

this is ed personal guitar, used in tons of promo for vh's first live album. there is history your paying for as well. it beats buying the frank replica...i'll tell you that.

also..it is best offer. never know what it'll go for.

For $30k I'd :

* Buy a plane ticket
* Fly to the US, buy $28k worth of EBMM's
* Fly to the UK / Europe, sell it all for $60k (they'd still be getting a better deal :D)
* Fly back to the US, buy the Goldtop EVH for $30k
* Then come back to Oz ........ all without effectively spending a cent.

then :

* eBay the EVH with no reserve, donate 50% to charity, and buy a pile of BFR's and other gear for whatever it fetches.

or

* Even better still, just give it back to Suze for some "favours" :D

:rolleyes::D:D

(I can already hear the lefties counting on their fingers)

LOL!! Good one Dizzy!:D

Man they where a good band. One thing we must remember about this thread, this wasn't one of Ed's personal guitars in fact he probably never even played them. He simply handed a guitar that Sterling had organised.
