Crimson, I understand a few of your points and where you're coming from, but certainly not the 'slobbering' one. There's quite a few people who have said they weren't into a few things (myself included). So as far as everyone slobbering over the guitar goes, I think you're sadly mistaken. Its very cool to have a sneak peek at a guitar before it comes out at the major show that is NAMM, and if you don't like it, thats fine. Nobody's yours or anyone else's opinion. If you don't like it, save up for something else you do like, its that simple.

-Phil

Yeah, I kind of overstated myself with the "slobbering" bit. It's just that I have witnessed it in other threads in this forum and a whole lot in this one...where a lot of the people here are drawn positively to whatever EBMM does...whatever it may be. Like a blinded faith....like they can do no wrong. Just strange to me. Anyways, I over did it I guess.

And yes, this thread is clearly headed in VERY familiar direction and to a VERY predictable conclusion and I don't get why it's so hard for people to get something that is said everytime we get one of these previews.

Which is unfortunate because what may happen is the previews might go bye-bye...including previews of guitars that the more cynical posters might be interested in.

I for one, don't exactly agree with the "this thread isn't for opinions" thing.

-Phil

thing is, poppa has told us a thousand times, we don't get to second guess him in a preview thread. second guessing is done by looking at the numbers. if it sells, he wins, if it doesn't, it doesn't.

and the forum is a much too small frame of diehards to be taken into consideration. we've been here before.

BP, thanks for the look! Love the name. Love the color. Can't wait to hear one! Can't wait to read more details!

That goes for the people who second guessed him, then. I wasn't one of those people. People are allowed to have opinions on things. I'm all about constructive comments, but I'm not for someone derailing a thread just because. I like the overall look of the guitar, with the exception of the upper horn. Thats just giving my opinion, not second guessing. I know this thing will sell a bunch just like all the other JP's.

"Yep,...those darn cynical posters! Where do they get off, thinking that they are entitled to their opinion! This ought to be more like communist China, where you either nod "okay" or get a bullet in the head!"

I figured I'd see the size differences and overall changes by layering a couple photos.

Note how the size of both horns are the same, though the upper horn has more scoop and now appears to angle inwards. Also, the bottom of the guitar is now symmetrical and is a bit wider.

Otherwise pretty much the same, not so drastic as some of you make it seem.

Bingo. This is a preview. Not a call for opinions.

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way.

Because, if that IS the case....then you REALLY need to do what someone else suggested:

Post the pics and subject matter......then, LOCK THIS MOTHER DOWN!

Are you serious? Give me a break dude... it's a forum. You know how it works... we've been through this same discussion before.

Again, you're ASSuming those who like it have no honest opinion of their own. That sounds like someone who needs to get over themselves to me.

Like I said, this isn't like you... what's up?

You really like that "ASSuming" thing huh? LOL

I'm not referring to EVERYONE who likes it. But, you can't tell me you don't know what I'm talking about. It's there.....the same ol' EBMM cheerleading section.

Anyhow, this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I state my honest opinion about the JPX and state a couple of observations about what I seem to see here....

And you know what? It wasn't MY posts that end up derailing the thread. It's all these EBMM DEFENDERS that come out the wood work that post their disgust that I broke the "status quo"....instead of letting sleeping dogs lie. I was just going to leave it at that, but instead, I'm forced to defend myself, from the powers that be.

Thats to be expected when Sterling and crew are paying to run this forum, don't you think? I'm sure most manufacturers wouldn't want all kinds of negative stuff on their board that they're paying to run. Thats exactly where this thread is heading, in a negative direction. Just let it die.

Relax. Don't clutter up this thread arguing please. Let's get back on track. Here are some of the highlights that differentiate the JPX from the other JP models:

- Half as many chambers as the 25th Anniversary
- Wider and taller frets
- Ebony board
- Neck color matches body color
- Black / Stealth hardware
- Super Sport controls / 5 way blade
- No push pull
- Streamlined top horn
- Bottom end is symmetrical

What do you expect on an MM board? Of course there is an EBMM cheerleading section. This is the EBMM board. There are going to be people who like it no matter what. Why does that bother you so much to go attack everyone and then go on about how you're a victim?

You didn't just state your honest opinion... you attacked everyone in the thread that didn't share your opinion right off the bat. That's what people started responding to. You suggested that everyone should voice their dislike of things, and if they have no dislikes suggested that they're puppets. You expect everyone to laugh and say... "oh, he's right, we should all say everything we hate about this guitar"?

I don't get it dude.

I'm never stating anything to suggest that the JPX wasn't a quality product. Simply my opinion on appearances.

And AGAIN....it only heads in a negative direction, because all of you guys want to take it there. If you people want to let it die....then, GET OFF OF MY BACK and let it die. You guys are ones derailing the thread. If you want to let it die, then leave me be...and it will die. I said my peace in my original post, but then I had to post several more times just to defend myself and my right to speak.

Cheers Scott, that's interesting that it contains half as many chambers.

Thanks, Dargin! I wouldn't be able to convince you to spill the beans on the body materials, would I?
