Johnny Did play several models, including the Axis, the 25th anniv. and the Silo, as soon as he picked up the Silo it was over. He literally stayed up all night and played it until he fell asleep with it still strapped on his body. Johnny loves the silo and it will be used on the new record this year. Hope that answers your question. Best regards, Bear

Great catch for EBMM.I saw Johnny play in London at the Guitar show. He's sure got fast fingers. Tele's and Silo's are class. Maybe he should have one of these.

He will be supporting our original guitar the Silhouette which makes me very very happy.

Johnny will be at the NAMM show and has agreed to play at the Casey Lee Ball Foundation annual bash allong with Steve Lukather and Joe Bonamassa.

This is great news indeed BP. And good that it came from you first. The truth of it, at least.

I'm actually curious as to why Johnny H decided on the Silhouette and not the SSH Silo Spec. Was it the 24 frets that he felt were more usable? Or the HSH config? If I remember correctly, that PRS JH siggy had a bunch of configs that were quite versatile. I would have thought the Reflex would have suited him better with the gamechanger. (Is that finally coming out in Winter NAMM?) Anyways, either guitar is a great endorsement for EBMM.

Johnny Hiland with Joe B? Damn!!!! I wish I could see that. BP, could you get someone to tape that and upload it so us less fortunate folks can get to witness the jam?

It is not really called 'game changer' though is it?
I thought that was just an expression...

Wow, pretty cool guitar. I like MMs and Teles, so this is a cool match.

BP, great news with JH. I really loved his PRS signature guitar, but they have mostly laquered necks, so nothing for me. It would be great to see a MM signature model for JH based on the Silo, maybe with some special pups for a little bit of the Tele twang ;).

Great news about Johnny, I had a hunch that things may turn out this way, it just felt like it had to be. I first heard him on the Visual Sound website about 8 years ago playing Orange Blossom Special..an unbelieveable player. Now all we need is for him to play at the UK Knucklehead Bash this year. That would be a blast. AL and JH in a 'Crossroad's style playoff :D....awesome

THe jam will not be taped and there will be very few cameras and no cell phone videos either. That is the topic of my next blog. THe insistance on documentation is going to stifle cretivity and experimentation. SOme things are special and should remian commtted to memory.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Johnny on becoming the newest member of the Ernie Ball family !

And also to share the final track FREE FALL on my CD which just happens to feature old Johnny Boy rhythm guitar
Cody Leppo Drums , & Jim Lightman Bass

This was recorded 2 years ago now & VERY ROUGH as far as my
guitar playing goes..
But I thought it was worth sharing here on the forum .:D
