I prefer the first pic of the bass with its original body shape before you trimmed off the extra wood prior to taking the second pic.

So how much lighter IS the bass without the extra wood?

I keep mine in position 4 most of the time. Great sound from all positions but #4 just kicks for fingerstyle rock.
