im not a 5 string player but every couple years a 5 string comes along and tempts me to buy it and i give in.

the 25th SR5 (did i get the year right?)
then the Sterling 5
and now an SSS Big AL

We'll see if im able to resist. but given that BP said they're releasing 10 models at NAMM and I play both guitar and bass im gonna have to budget wisely to get as many new Balls as i can

Big Al 5 string unlined fretless. White with a brown tort. guard. But I reserve the right to change my mind. I think I would sell a kidney if they would make me one in shell pink with a white guard.

I'll be ordering a Big Al 5 H. Gonna wait till the new finishes are posted before I decide on the finish, but that Red one with the Black pickguard BP post a photo of in the announcement thread has really go a hold of me.

I find it hard to decide. I played my Big Al 4 last night and again loved the sounds especially from the middle and bridge Singlecoil. That said I think I would not really need the neckpickup for but one sound.

That said I would dream me a 5er with the new H in bridge position and a singlecoil as close to the classic P-spot as it can get. That with active /passive and series parallel switch and he posibility to split the H and turn on /off the singlecoil (I think i may need one more button for that. I would be happy if all settings would be serial too. It should have an all rosewood neck as those are the best feeling necks I ever played.

I have tor play one of the new single H ones to decide between the already given options.

I also would instantly go for a "reverse SLO" neck for the Big Al 4 with a Bongo nutwidth.

I would love a Stealth SSS Big Al 5 with an Ebony board, if it were an option...

But I will probably order a Big Al 5
-black
-SSS
-tort guard
-rosewood

...and then a Big Al 4 Stealth SSS if/ when it is available :D

Subject to change many times with no notice:

Big Al 5 SSS, unsure of finish but currently leaning toward Sterling Silver with Black Pearl Guard and maple neck.

If the Big Al I have is anything to go by, then all the upsized Als will be sweet - I'll take a 5er in any config I can get, but preferably with a maple board :)

None.

If I were to get a Big Al, it would be a SSS model, because to me this is what the Big Al is all about. I had an opportunity to play a 4 string model and I liked to sounds of it, but I can't say anything about the new line with the different woods. On the (now) old model I would have gone with a rosewood fretboard and a bright finish, and 4 strings either way.

Meet George Jetson.

The first time Mrs.sitonmybass saw a Big Al she immediately thought of the Jetsons, too. Is there something the two of you want to confess?

I think I'll start calling her Jane. "Jane, stop this crazy thing! Jane! Jane!"
