Steve is a true great, but so humble and always offers such great advice.....his clinics are always just awesome! If anyone can get his book (I think it's called Open Ears - A Journey through Life with Guitar in hand) - it provides a great insight into his experiences.......

It was a great concert and I had a blast hanging with Nick, Keith, Colin, and Bob. Steve and Dave were both fantastic and Van was on fire! Sarah's set had some really nice songs in it and she can sing like a bird. A big thanks to Bob for hooking us up with the tickets and a bigger thanks to Keith for surprising us by paying for them!

Colin isn't kidding about Steve letting his dinner get cold; Colin was shooting vid of Steve's gear right after soundcheck and Steve went off and got #1 and then gave a tutorial on the switching and some of his favorite settings - all while his dinner was getting cold! Steve is a class act and it is always a pleasure chatting with him.

After the gig while SMB was doing a signing I had the opportunity to chat with Travis and Jennifer for a few minutes and they are some really nice people, too!

sorry about the watermark & cell phone pic

Wait, I thought I paid for the tickets..but then you paid for the shirts..jeez, it gets complicated. But in the grand scheme of life and in the context of a super fun weekend, its all in the noise. Here is the photo again with the red eyes reduced. But back to Keith's original message, and BP's thoughts, +1 for sure.

I woke up Saturday morning and thought to myself. The SMB concert is tonight. I have made the trip from Tucson to San Juan several times before. This time I just had to let it slide.
As far as all the nice things people have said about Steve in this thread, please allow me to express 100% concurrence. He's all that and then some.
Sometimes I think Kieth tries to be kind as well.
This framed picture showed up in my mail box one day.

I'm sad I couldn't make it this time but I am so happy you guys got to go and see Steve and each other.

Talk about a down to earth guy, that is genuine. I still blast out Simple Simon and cant believe how he gets his guitar to sound like a fiddle. Early on I tried to copy how he holds his pick with his thumb and index and middle finger but it just was not right for me but then again the way he can pick I doubt sometimes he is from this planet.
