isnt there a $1000 price difference? Koa approx 3500 and JPX approx 2500?

does that weigh in the decision at all? (its not like its a toss up between a a 2000 and 2200 guitar) but if money is no matter, thats a tough one. As of yet no one has really heard / played (extensivley) a JPX

what has more of an appeal? class or flash? i'd believe that they both have awesome tone, and play the same

Note, that the Koa wont be chambered, have the 5 way blade selector, asym body and the higher fret profile.

I personally think the BFR JP's profile was great! I'm actually not a fan of bigger frets.

As BP said, the metal guys better get on the JPX, because its that smoking hot.

Even still, I'm not an all metal guy, the Koa just blasts me as classy.

+1 for the KOA, I'm sure the JPX is amazing, but how can you turn this down?
This guitar was (or is) one of the forum members. I drool every time I see it.

Hey, u talkin to me? NY
I would say that they are almost completely different guitars so, it comes down to your personal preference. If you have the extra cash and you're not a huge huge fan of the JPX large frets, blade switch and color - go for the KOA JP7. I wish I had this type of a dilemma...

Good Luck!

Once again, thanks for all the opinions.
Its definitely a tough decision for me.
Any body tried the JPX from namm b4? like to hear your opinion on that.
frankly, i am more on the KOA side.. look at the tops!!!(thanks YtseJam92) they are just meant to last.. and the JPX, its a beauty, but i would say its a trendy guitar.
also, can i know whats the difference between the chambered and the solid?
thanks.

that is the best top of all time, hands down, its a flame silhouetted on a flame top how did that even happen!?! it was my desktop pic for about a year. I have seen some of the most unique tops on the Koa's as well as some duller ones, my only aprehension on ordering a Koa from factory is it truley is a crapshoot on how the top is going to look, now that they are making them in 7 and the Jpx isnt made lefty I am seriously going to ponder getting one, by the time I have even saved for half the Reflex should be out, and hopefully left handed :) I dream of one of those in Seafoam Green, Pacific Blue Burst, or Silverburst Sparkle ;)

tough choice

big decision. if your in a metal band then maybe the jpx as it really looks the part. but if you had them both you would probably keep the koa long term.
the jpx has routed out cavitys under the top which should give more resonance. jp7koa or jpx7 still a tough decision.

How about whichever is cheaper and spend the rest on other gear or just plain save it?

is it just me or does the jpx body shape (the 5way switch included) seem awfully close to an ibanez rg body shape?
