Have you played the Luke? I thought similarly for many years until I actually played a Luke ... kicked myself for not trying one sooner. The pickups in the Luke are fantastic and cover a surprising amount of ground very well.

No need to now that I got my JP!! :D J/K, I definitely would be interested in playing one.

thanks for all the input. musicman, i just got the ce 24 and its not really to my liking as far as feel goes. i think ill give the new jp pups a try and split the coils.

It sounds like you know the problem and are trying to get something you know your not going to get. I have a different problem with the JP and that is I love everything about it, but the neck is a bit to thin for me but not enough so to make me get rid of it anyway my son confiscated it and it's his now. I wish I had your problem instead as you totally love the feel of the guitar. I would say find a set of pups that give you what you need and your set Now only if I could get a JP with the neck dimensions of an Axis I would be in heaven.
