SLO question!

Not to get overexcited about the SLO specials (too late!), but is the only difference between a Stingray neck and a standard Sterling neck the bolt holes, or is the neck gap spacing different as well? If it's just the bolt holes, is it possible to get a SLO neck to swap out on a regular Stingray neck? That would be so rad.

The factory doesn't sell the necks separately, so you would have to find someone who wants to trade necks.

Stingray necks have 21 frets and Sterling necks have 22 frets.

The Sterling neck heel is rounded while the Stingray's is squared.

If you want an SLO Special, I'd suggest you buy an SLO Special.

My SLO Special neck looks and attaches exactly like a normal Stingray neck, it's just narrower at the nut. The back of the neck feels like a Stingray, not a Sterling neck.

Terrific neck, I love my SLO Special Stingray.

I no longer have any desire to swap the neck out - no worries! Now I just want an SLO special.

good thinking. i have a slo special stingray but i'd prefer the regular stingray neck its what im used to. wish i could've gotten the black stingray with maple neck i wanted but GC didnt have it so i went with the stealth black Stingray with slo special neck. its nice yeah i'll admit i loved it at first. but i got so used to the neck on my ray 34 that now playing the stingray kinda bugs me.

You'll get used to it with time. I thought the same, but love the fact that I have Dargie Slo special.
