Just ignore him Beej. I think he was probably just having a bad day. I have seen his ads for that guitar in a few other places. I agree with BP that he doesn't have any interest in this (or other forums) other than using them as free advertising to his target audience.

FWIW I did buy a really nice guitar from him a few years ago (still have it and love it) over the internet and the deal and communications were really smooth and cordial, so I think he was just having a bad day. Shrug it off as quickly as you can. You are doing a great job here.

Personally, I really like your explanation on why his ad got pulled. It does mean a lot to have that trust in an online deal. I haven't been here long, but already I've picked up on a lot of people here that I would not hesitate to buy a guitar from. You can tell they have a lot invested in this place and would never jeopardize their reputation here over a few quid. Plus, they know and love the EBMM instruments so you know that they have been treated right.

Ah, Beej......I'd suggest that you have a "vent" thread in a separate moderator section. It really can help.

I moderate the largest Subaru forum in the world with 250k registered users, of which about 40k are active. What seems fairly universal is that these kind of people (with the stupid PM's) seem to think that because this is on the internet, it's democratic and free speech applies. It doesn't. I understand that completely.

Oh....I don't know if you get the "worse" pm's, but I've been called racial slurs (usually multiple ones because they don't know what race applies) and had my life threatened and been threatened with legal action. Most pm's (responses to infractions) usually start out with either "sorry" or "since you have to abuse your power".......

the internet.....serious bidness.

I'm still having a hard time believing Jack is a NASIOC mod. I'm still geeking out about it.

I have to honestly say that of all the forums I participate in regularly, this one is BY FAR the most well behaved. Yeah, the mods have to stay busy, but generally folks are very civil and there is very little personal attacks, links to offensive websites, copyrighted material, etc. This is clearly a reflection on the company, the mods... and us knuckleheads.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, and I don't know if the forum software even allows for it, but the only other forum I'm a member at, Head-Fi.org, has a for sale section that can't be accessed until you reach a combination of the required number of posts plus time as a member. Once you reach that quota you are able to access that section of the forum. It seems to work really well.

That was my first thought as well.

You're doing fine, Beej! Always cool. Keep it up.
