Newbie To EBMM Guitars Question

Don't get me wrong...................I love my EBMM Basses, but I also dabble in the skinny six strings. I have many geetars, but no EBMMs..............If they are anything like the basses, I may just be missing out!

The new Albert Lee HH has kind of caught my eye. There are no music stores in my area that carry EBMM guitars (in stock), so I really have not had the chance to even hold one. What is the neck profile like, is it a modern "C" type feel? Thin, thick, or just right? I also was thinking about the Albert Lee with the three P-90 type set-up. I probably would go with the HH version first, but I may also like the the triple P-90 as a second? For some reason the Albert Lee body style (in a guitar), really looks great! The last thing I need is Guitar GAS to go with my Bass GAS!

Yes buy many AL's!!! MM90's rule, you are thinking very clearly! The neck shape is a nice C- not too fat or thin.

Great choice!!! However, don't forget to at least check out the Axis - the neck (like the AL) is smoooooooooooooooooooooooooth!!

I have both an AL and several Axis guitars... both are nice, but the HH AL with rosewood neck is out of this world... and that is saying a lot since the Axis is my favorite guitar, ever! If you are going to get one to start with I would say go for the 2HB AL you will get the most out of it and the rosewood neck will only be available for ??????? while the Axis will be there for a much longer time.

The 2H Albert Lees are awesome. I guarantee you won't be dissapointed...

Looks like you should get a Big Al to go with it!

You know, the higher two strings are usally tuned b and e

And now for the serious part: I read some bass player's note, that he could get along best with with the neck of the Axis/ASS as it has more "bone" (I am sure he was referring to the substance ), which is what he was used to. But if you're into the Al, go and get one. You may still sell it to some knucklehead here on the forum

Take a day off. There are 2 HH Als in the Boston Guitar Center. Try them. Then drive down to Manchester, CT to Beller's (DuBaldo store) where they have 2 MM90 Als to try.

I agree with many of the comments so far! I think the HH AL should be first due to the potential of it being a limited production. I will then try for the MM90 Version, as there is no special model right now.................One step at a time, the Axis may have to wait a while!

I'm counting on help from the Knuckleheads, they always are there for you on the bass side! Someone is always willing to take one off your hands if you decide you need another flavor!
